The primary scientific interest and research area of the doctoral theses of two assistants at the Chair of Metal Structures, Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Zagreb (Ivan Čudina and Anđelo Valčić) are in the field of aluminium structures, which are closely related to the objectives of the REAL-fit project.

The field of the WAAM-wire arc additive manufacturing of aluminium alloys, which is coming into focus in the near future, is the subject of the doctoral thesis of assistant Mislav Štefok, a member of the research team at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb.
