Previous scientific contribution in the field and topic of research

Prof. Skejić, Head of Chair for metal structures at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (University of Zagreb), is the project applicant and principal investigator. Since 2010, he has been the Chairman of the Technical Subcommittee HZN/TO 548/ PO 9: Design of Aluminium Structures. During the development of the Technical Regulations for Structures, he was the head of the Working Group on Aluminium Structures (2015-2017). At the international level, since 2015, he has been involved in the preparation of the 2nd generation of Eurocode 9 through working groups (CEN /TC 250/ SC 09/ WG 01, WG 02 and WG 03) and actively participates as a member of the project team: SC9.T1 for Phase 1 of Mandate M/515: Aluminium – Update and simplification of all parts of EN 1999. Since 2019 he is the representative of CEN /TC 250/ SC 09 in the CEN /TC 250/ SC 10/Ad-hoc Group: Reliability background in Eurocodes, where he presents reliability issues in Eurocode 9. He is the originator of the idea of probabilistic assessment of aluminium alloys mechanical properties and has published the world’s first full paper on this subject as a lead author together with the long-time chairman of CEN /TC 250/ SC 09, Emeritus Professor F. M. Mazzolani.
